Metro News gets results: Sarkodie pays bill for infant who fell into hot water after report highlights her plight

Celebrated rapper, Sarkodie has come to the rescue of Rose Samira Sulley, the 18-month-old stuck at the Ridge Hospital for months due to her parent’s inability to pay her bills.

The rapper, who was christened Michael Owusu Addo has made a generous donation of GHS13,000 to help pay the medical bills of 18 months old Rose Samira Sulley.

Rose Samira Sulley accidentally fell into the hot water her mom was preparing for her to bath and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

After going under the knife and being on a ventilator for weeks, little Rose miraculously started healing; her woes were however not over as the high medical bills kept her and her mother stuck at the hospital.

After spending the 3 months including the entire Christmas period with her mother at the Critical Burns Unit of the Ridge Hospital in Accra, Metro News took up the story and solicited funds to help pay the medical bills for little Rose.

The news network launched a campaign to get funds for little Rose across all social media platforms.

Upon seeing the campaign on micro-blogging software, Twitter, the ‘You Go Kill Me’ hitmaker reached out to Metro TV’s Bridget Otoo to ascertain the trending news and see how he could be of how to salvage the infant from the situation.

Writing on Twitter, on Saturday, January 8, Ms. Otoo narrated that “This is how it all started…I was in bed minding my business, then Boom, alert….King Sarkodie slipped in my DM…and I was WAS LIKE ermmm am I getting an ADVICe? Sarkodie shared a link of my post, wanted to verify if it was legit and If I had seen the child,” she said.

Bridget Otoo said when the rapper slipped into her inbox, she taught that perhaps, he had come to reprimand her for some ‘crime’ committed. But she was wrong.

The head honcho of the Sark Nation donated the entire 13, 000 Ghana Cedis little Rose needed to get little Rose out of the hospital.

Although Bridget intimated that she apprised the rapper scores of people have already extended their benevolence towards the cause, Sarkodie insisted on sending the whole amount.
